3.1.12. Head of cylinders

GENERAL INFORMATION

Sequence of tightening of bolts of a head of cylinders

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator.
2. Unscrew spark plugs.
3. Merge cooling liquid.
4. Remove an airintaking branch pipe.
5. Remove the resonator.
6. Remove ropes of a throttle and an accelerator.
7. Remove a vacuum hose of the brake system, a fuel hose, radiator hoses, a vacuum hose of system a cruise control and hoses of a heater.
8. Disconnect all wires from a head.
9. Unscrew bolts and nuts of a water tube.
10. Remove a pulley of the water pump and a driving belt.
11. Remove an air inlet and the fuel highway.
12. Remove an inlet collector.
13. Disconnect an exhaust pipe from a final collector.
14. Uncover valves.

15. Uncover a gas-distributing belt and a gas-distributing belt.

16. Take off driving belts of the pump of the power steering and generator.
17. Remove a generator arm.
18. Remove the ignition distributor.
19. Unscrew bolts of the pump of the power steering and arrange the pump aside.

20. Examine a head and disconnect the details preventing removal of a head.

21. Weaken head bolts in stages on a quarter of a turn. Weaken bolts in the sequence of the return sequence of tightening.
22. Remove bolts and remove a head.

23. Examine a head.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Carefully clean and examine the joined surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders on existence of scratches and damages. Small scratches can be cleaned off a small emery paper.
2. Clean carvings of bolts of a head and a carving in the block of cylinders by means of dies and taps of the suitable size.
3. Establish new laying of a head.
4. Install a head on the block of cylinders.
5. Oil carvings of bolts, insert bolts and tighten them fingers.
6. Tighten bolts in stages in the specified sequence.

7. Establish the remained details and knots, connect all hoses and wires. Fill in cooling liquid and check operation of the engine.
