2.13. Check and replacement of hoses in a motive compartment

GENERAL INFORMATION

High temperature in a motive compartment can cause destruction of material of hoses and accelerate their wear. Regularly check a condition of hoses in a motive compartment and reliability of their fastenings.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a condition of vacuum hoses and connections. Often for effective check of a hose it needs to be removed from the car.
2. Use a short piece of a thin vacuum hose as a stethoscope for air leak check.
3. Check fuel hoses for existence of damages or wear. Check reliability of fastenings of hoses.
4. Check that metal tubes were not strongly bent or pressed. Examine tubes on existence of cracks or other damages. If the tube needs to be replaced, use the steel tubes which are only specially intended for this purpose.
