GENERAL INFORMATION

Control and measuring equipment

For check of systems of injection of fuel and decrease in toxicity of exhausts it is necessary to use digital universal instrumentations as they have the big accuracy of measurements and bigger resistance of an internal contour.

Hand scanners are the most convenient and universal devices for check of control systems of operation of the engine on models of later years of release.

The OBD-I systems (models till 1995 of release)

The electronic control unit has the built-in system of self-diagnostics (On Board Diagnosis (OBD) system) which serves for search of malfunctions in system and includes a control bulb of the engine on an instrument guard in case of detection of malfunctions. The code of malfunction remains in memory of an electronic control unit and is available to reading.

Reading of codes of malfunction of the OBD-I systems

For reading of the codes of malfunction which are written down in memory of an electronic control unit connect the STI and GND plugs of the diagnostic socket of connection.

Connect the voltmeter to the car STO and "weight" plug. Include ignition and count number of a deviation of an arrow of the device or blinkings of a control bulb of the engine. For example, the code 34 will be removed as 3 long blinkings of a bulb, a pause, 4 short blinkings.

Cleaning of codes of malfunction of the OBD-I system

For cleaning of codes of malfunction disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator and squeeze out a brake pedal longer, than for 5 seconds.

The OBD-II systems (models since 1996 of release)

Diagnostic socket of connection of the OBD-II system

The socket is located under the dashboard on the party of the driver.

Models since 1996 of release have system of self-diagnostics of the second generation OBD-II. Access to an electronic control unit of this system can be got only by means of the special scanner which needs to be connected to the 16-shtyrkovy diagnostic socket of connection located under the dashboard. At failure detection the electronic control unit includes an alarm bulb on an instrument guard and keeps a malfunction code in memory.

Reading of codes of malfunction of the OBD-II system

For reading of codes of malfunction of the OBD-II system use the special scanner which needs to be connected to the diagnostic socket of connection. If there is no scanner, it is necessary to address experts.
