9.3. System of anti-blocking of brakes (ABS)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The ABS system consists of two subsystems: electric and hydraulic. The electric subsystem includes four wheel sensors and an electronic control unit. The hydraulic subsystem consists of the hydraulic module, supports of brakes and brake tubes

ABS electronic control unit (it is specified by an arrow) is located under the left side of the dashboard.

Codes of malfunction of the ABS system

In case of failure detection in the ABS system the electronic control unit includes the alarm bulb of ABS located on an instrument guard and keeps a malfunction code in memory.

For reading of codes of malfunction on models 1993-1997 of years of release connect the FBS and GND plugs of the diagnostic socket of connection.

Connect the voltmeter to the car TBS and "weight" plug. Include ignition and count number of deviations of an arrow of the device. For example, the code 22 will be removed as two long deviations of an arrow and two short.

On models of 1998 of release reading of codes of malfunction requires the special equipment.
