In the Mazda models of the relay of the fan it is located in the right forward corner of office of the engine. In the Ford Probe models two relays are used – in models of 1993 of the relay of low speed it is fixed before a radiator, and in later models in the left back corner of office of the engine. The relay of high speed of the fan is located in a casing of the fan.
The delivery fan is located under a ware box.

PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. If the delivery fan does not work, first of all, check connections of sockets in a fan chain. Check the fuse of the engine (15 A) in the internal panel of safety locks and a safety lock of a heater (40 A) in the panel of fuses and the relay located under a cowl. |
2. Define a fan relay arrangement. Remove the relay and check whether correctly they function (see subsection 12.5). If necessary replace the relay. |
3. Check how the fan works in all modes. |
4. If safety locks and the relay are in the normal state, and the fan does not work, test the fan. |
5. Connect a tester to blue / red (Mazda) or white (Ford) contact. The tester has to show at least 10 V (ignition is included, the switch of the modes of the fan is in any situation except position of OFF It (is switched off). If it not so, in a chain of the fan are malfunctions. |
6. If tension moves on the fan, and it does not work, connect by means of a crossing point blue / white (Mazda) or a black / orange (Ford) wire to grounding on a car body. If the fan still does not work, then it needs to be replaced. If the fan works, it means that in a chain of grounding of the fan there are malfunctions. |
7. If the fan works, but not in all modes, check the resistor of the fan which is located on a fan casing. |
8. Remove the resistor and examine it on existence of damages. Check the resistor by means of an ohmmeter (see rice. Check of the resistor of the motor of the delivery fan). If necessary replace the resistor. |
9. If the resistor functions normally, remove the heater control panel. In the Probe models disconnect wires from a back part of the gearshift of the fan and check switch resistance (see rice. Check of the gearshift of the delivery fan (Ford). In the Mazda models connect the voltmeter to contacts of the switch and check whether tension on contacts (see rice moves. Check of the gearshift of the delivery fan (Mazda). If the switch is faulty, replace it. |
