GENERAL INFORMATION

Identification number of the car

 Identification number of the car is beaten out on a back wall of a motive compartment or specified on the plate attached on the dashboard under a windshield. Identification number of the car contains information on where and when the car, model year and type of a body was released.

The code the engine is designated by the eighth figure of identification number of the car, beginning from the left side. Year of release is designated by the 10th figure.

W – 1998

In – the six-cylinder DOHC V6 engine 2.5L

D – six-cylinder DOHC V6 engine 2.5L

Engine code

 The code of the engine is also specified on the forward left side of the engine, under an oil filter for four-cylinder engines, and on the right back side of the engine for six-cylinder engines.

Identification number of the transmission

 Identification number of the transmission is specified on a case of the mechanical transmission. On models with the automatic transmission it is specified on the plate attached on the forward party of the transmission.
