7.2.9. Removal and automatic transmission installation

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of bolts of the transmission and engine (4-cylinder models of 1993 with KPP 4EAT/of GF4A-EL)

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator. Remove the accumulator and its arm.
2. Remove an airintaking branch pipe and the air filter.
3. Remove a starter.
4. Disconnect a wire of grounding of the transmission and remove the transmission sensor.
5. Disconnect a plait of wires of the transmission from a box casing.
6. Disconnect a gear shifting lever rope from the transmission.
7. Disconnect a car speed sensor wire.
8. Disconnect tubes of a radiator of transmission liquid from the transmission.
	9. Lift and fix a forward part of the car. Fix the engine on the strut established over office of the engine.
	10. Unscrew the top bolts fixing the transmission to the engine (arrow).
11. Disconnect an arm of the fuel filter and shift the filter aside.
12. Remove the left support of the engine.
13. Remove forward wheels.
14. Merge transmission liquid.
15. In four-cylinder engines remove a basic arm of an inlet collector.
16. In six-cylinder engines remove final system.
17. Disconnect an intermediate shaft from the transmission.
18. Remove the leading half shafts and an intermediate shaft.
19. Insert plugs or special caps into openings of half shafts.
	20. Remove protective guards. Remove a transmission cross-piece, having unscrewed bolts (shooters).
21. In six-cylinder engines disconnect wires of the left and right oxygen sensors.
	22. Unscrew six bolts, twist two nuts and remove a transmission support (And – the bolts fixing the engine to a support; In – the bolts fixing a support to a body; With – the bolts fixing the transmission to a support).
23. Twist hydrotransformer nuts.
24. Establish a jack under the transmission.
25. Remove a support of the transmission and an arm of a support.
26. Unscrew the remained bolts of the transmission and engine.
27. Disconnect the transmission from the engine and lower it on a jack.

Installation

Installation of the transmission is carried out upside-down removals.
