GENERAL INFORMATION

On the cold engine spontaneous ignition temperature only due to compression therefore preheat of fuel mix is necessary is not reached.

For this purpose the glow plug is screwed in each combustion chamber. The glow plug generally consists of the case with the heating core pressed in it. When giving tension the heater winding in a core within several seconds is warmed up to the temperature over +850 °C thanks to what warming up duration before start seldom lasts more, than 10 seconds. At attenuation of a control lamp of a warming up on the dashboard it is possible to make start of the engine.

For acceleration of a warming up of the engine heat proceeds also after its start. Duration of preliminary heat is defined by the control unit depending on temperature of cooling liquid. The control unit is behind the central console under an air duct.

Information on temperature of the engine comes to the control unit from the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid. On the basis of the obtained data the control unit determines duration and size of current.
