3.6.12. Diagnostics of malfunctions of a power supply system of the diesel engine

GENERAL INFORMATION

In order that according to the following table defects could be localized, the following conditions have to be satisfied: there should not be mistakes at start of the engine. Fuel in a tank, the engine mechanically as it should be, the accumulator is charged, the starter rotates with necessary speed.

Prevention

Before removal of fuel hoses and tubes they should be cleared a cold cleaner.

REASON	ELIMINATION METHOD
The engine is not started, started badly
The preliminary warming up does not work	Check system of a preliminary warming up.
Tension on the fuel supply shutdown valve does not move	Connect tension sampler to the valve, include ignition. The light-emitting diode has to light up, otherwise find and eliminate break of a wire.
Defect of the valve of shutdown of supply of fuel	Check reliability of fastening and connection with the mass of the valve of shutdown of supply of fuel. Switch on and off ignition, at the same time clicks of operation of the valve have to be heard.
Refusal in fuel system	Check fuel supply. Clear fuel pipelines. Replace the fuel filter. Clean.
Defect of nozzles	Check nozzles, consistently weakening cap nuts and checking whether cylinders work.
Defect of the fuel pump of high pressure	For test install obviously serviceable pump.
The engine not exactly idles, in a start of motion	Fuel hoses on fuel the pump or on the fuel filter are not fixed. Replace fuel hoses, tighten collars, hollow screws.
The increased fuel consumption
The air filter is polluted	Replace an element of the air filter.
Thinnesses in fuel system	Make external survey of all fuel pipeline, fuel filter and fuel pump of high pressure.
The fuel return tube is littered	Blow air a tube of return of fuel in the direction from the fuel pump of high pressure to the fuel tank. Replace a modulation throttle in the hollow screw of a tube of return of fuel.
Idling turns are raised	Adjust idling turns.
The control lamp of preheat does not light up
Defect of a control lamp on the dashboard	Replace a lamp.
Defect of a glow plug	Check glow plugs.
The control lamp of a preliminary warming up does not light up, the cold engine is badly started
Defect of one or several candles of an incandescence	Check and, perhaps, replace glow plugs.
