5.1.4. Adjustment of the carburetor

GENERAL INFORMATION

Conditions of carrying out adjustment

If on the car the system of maintenance of constant speed of idling is installed, it is necessary to switch-off all electric equipment of the car and to establish directly forward wheels before adjustment of speed of idling or fuel mix (or before adjustment of a corner of an advancing of ignition or duration of the closed condition of contacts of the breaker). Otherwise, the system of stabilization will be active, and adjustment will be wrong.

Disconnect a vacuum hose from the compensator of system of idling at high temperature of the engine (if it is established) and stop up a branch pipe on the carburetor.

Adjustment of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft when idling the engine and amount of fuel mix of idling (WITH)

Idling adjustment screws
1. The screw of adjustment of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft during the operation of the engine in the idling mode

2. Idling mix adjustment screw
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Increase the speed of operation of the engine to 3000 rpm and hold it at this level within 30 seconds for cleaning of an inlet collector of fuel vapors, then leave the engine to work in the idling mode.
2. By means of the screw of adjustment of speed of idling, adjust the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft when idling the engine (cm. subsection 5.1.1).
3. Check the SO level; if it differs from specified (see subsection 5.1.1), remove a seal and adjust position of the screw of adjustment of amount of mix of idling for obtaining the SO correct level. Rotation of the screw clockwise (twisting) reduces the SO level, rotation of the screw counterclockwise (twisting) increases the SO level. If you have no SO sensor, operation of adjustment of amount of mix of idling without use of the SO sensor is described in the corresponding chapter.
4. Repeat the operations described above until both adjustments are correct.
5. Clear an inlet collector each 30 seconds when carrying out adjustment, increasing the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft to 3000 rpm for 30 seconds.
6. Lift the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft to 2000 rpm and measure the SO level. The received value has to be less than a half of the SO level during the operation of the engine in the idling mode.
7. Install a new seal on the screw of adjustment of amount of mix upon completion of adjustment.

Installation of level of fuel in the float-operated camera / adjustment of the course of a float

Window of the float-operated camera

Fuel level in the float-operated camera can be checked, without removing the carburetor. When the engine works, the level of fuel can be checked through a viewing window of the float-operated camera. If the level of fuel does not correspond to a mark, adjustment is necessary.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover the carburetor, being guided by the instructions provided in subsection 5.1.3.
2. Turn a carburetor cover so that the float looked up, and the needle valve was closed.
3. Measure distance of "N" (height of installation of a float) between a cover of the carburetor and a plastic float (without laying). Check that height of installation of a float was such as it is specified in subsection 5.1.1.
4. Adjust height of installation of a float, having bent the lever of a float "And".
H. Height of installation of a float
5. Turn a cover of the carburetor and check that the float fell as far as it is allowed by a restrictive uvula.
6. Measure distance of "L" (the float course) between a cover of the carburetor and the lower party of a float. Compare the received value to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
7. Adjust the float course, having bent a restrictive uvula "In".

Adjustment of the mechanical air gate

Before adjustment of the air gate check that the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft when idling and amount of mix of idling were correctly adjusted.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Remove the air filter. Disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case of the engine. Vacuum hoses have to remain connected (or disconnect them and stop up openings).

Adjustment of bystry idling – the carburetor is removed from the engine

Verification of the provision of the air gate during the operation of the engine in the mode of bystry idling

1. Air gate

2. A butterfly valve – primary camera

3. Gap

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For adjustment of system of bystry idling the carburetor needs to be removed from the engine.
2. Turn the carburetor and by means of the lever of the air gate completely close the air gate.
3. The adjusting screw will open a butterfly valve, forming a small gap.
4. By means of a shaft of a drill measure gap size between a wall of the camera of the carburetor and edge of a butterfly valve (see rice. Verification of the provision of the air gate during the operation of the engine in the mode of bystry idling). Compare the received value to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
5. Adjust gap size, having bent connecting draft in a point 1.

Automatic air gate

Conditions of carrying out adjustment of the automatic air gate were specified (see subsection 5.1.1).

Adjustment of bystry idling – at the working engine

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Slightly open a butterfly valve a little and install the lever of bystry idling on the top tooth of a cam of bystry idling.
2. Start the engine, without pressing an accelerator pedal, and note the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine in the mode of bystry idling. Compare the received frequency to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
3. Adjust the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft, rotating the screw of adjustment of speed of bystry idling in the required direction.

Adjustment of bystry idling (model with the semi-automatic air gate) – the carburetor is removed from the engine

Adjustment of bystry idling

1. Cam of system of bystry idling

2. Adjusting screw

3. Lever of system of bystry idling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn the carburetor, then slightly open a butterfly valve and install the lever of bystry idling on the second tooth of a cam of bystry idling. The adjusting screw will open a butterfly valve, forming a small gap.
2. Check that the air gate was completely closed. By means of a shaft of a drill measure the size of a gap "G" between a wall of the camera of the carburetor and edge of a butterfly valve (see rice. Adjustment of bystry idling). Compare the received value to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
3. Adjust gap size, having turned the adjusting screw in the required direction.

Adjustment of bystry idling (model with the automatic air gate) – the carburetor is removed from the engine

Combination of marks in a cam of system of bystry idling and lever
1. Lever of a butterfly valve

2. Lever of system of bystry idling

3. Adjusting screw

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Wait until temperature of the carburetor falls to the level of 25 °C and sustain the carburetor at such temperature at least within an hour.
2. Check that the mark "25 °" in a cam of bystry idling coincided with the center of the lever of system of bystry idling.
3. Adjust the provision of a mark, rotating the adjusting screw in the required direction.
4. Turn the carburetor and by means of a shaft of a drill measure gap size between a wall of the camera of the carburetor and edge of a butterfly valve (see rice.
